Conferences and seminars

We organize monthly conferences and seminars on varied range of socio-political issues focusing on the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir and its issues with other regions. From foreign policy issues concerned with the state to local issues directly impacting the people’s daily life, we aim to engage people from across the sections, bring them together to have a meaningful dialogue, to produce quality research, distributed through reports, issue briefs, videos and articles.

This is one of our flagship programs, which was launched in 2018 with the first conference held in London on 20 April 2018 in collaboration with the South Asia Institute of SOAS, University of London. Over a dozen speakers from different regions of the ertswhile state of Jammu and Kashmir were invited, who spoke in two sessions about different socio-political aspects of the region, mainly focusing on the impact of Line of Control over the region’s political situation. The speakers addressed the issues of human rights violations, connectivity, people to people contact, exchange of ideas and information and also the need of intra-dialogue between the regions. The next conference is an annual program, which will be now held in 2019.

Workshop Series
Emotional Intelligence and Stress Management

Mental health is as crucial as our physical health and essential for overall wellness for anyone, at any given time and place. It becomes even more important in this state on account of complex political, cultural and social dynamics. In the case of Kashmir, the ongoing conflict has impacted our mental health severely. The workshops cover a few introductory topics from peace-psychology that include mental health, emotions, expression, emotional intelligence, neuro-science on stress and a few stress management techniques. The sessions are conducted through experiential activities, exercises and ice-breakers. Facilitator: Ufra Mir, Peace-psychologist
